Hi! I’m Chrissy (she/her)!
I’m Chrissy Bernards, a single mom and the owner of Moon and Hare Collective and Urban Farm. I am an urban agriculture and homesteading educator, a curriculum developer, and an energetic community herbalist living, creating, and growing in Eugene Oregon.
I grew up on a farm…
….and I absolutely hated farm life so I ran away to the city to get away from it. After a few years I had an intense desire to start growing my own food and flowers and herbs and that was the end for me. Now I am an urban homesteader with about a fifth of an acre, using permaculture and regenerative methods to live with the seasons. I also can, freeze, dehydrate, and otherwise preserve what I am able to. I forage for herbs and mushrooms. I create my own herbal medicines.
I enjoy creating collage and block print art, and reading in my spare time. I live on my little urban homestead with my two children, three cats, and a plethora of hummingbirds and pollinators.
I want to inspire you…
I want to inspire and empower you to explore your creativity and intentional living while providing accessible education on urban farming, radical homemaking, and sustainable practices. I want to support you in achieving a thrifty, yet fulfilling lifestyle through budget-friendly tips, tools, and skills, while inspiring creative expression and intentional living.
